A holiday home straight out of a fairy tale.
At the “Austrian village” in “Nieuw-Haamstede”, this residence has been built in 1960 with the stones that were washed away from the church after the great flood disaster of the southwest Netherlands in 1953.
The “Toverhazelaar” is a warm family house that immediately gives you the “homecoming” feeling.
The living provides room to relax on the couch with a book, play a board game at the table or watch some TV/DVD. Patio doors create the feeling of being outside even in the winter months.
The house has a separate kitchen with an open connection to the living room. Behind the kitchen is a large utility room that can be used for storage. A second toilet and sink can also be found here.
The “Toverhazelaar” has 3 spacious bedrooms with each two lovely box spring beds. The ground floor master bedroom has its own sink. A bathroom with shower, sink and toilet is right across from the master bedroom.
For the children there are 2 baby cots, 2 highchairs, toys, games and a garden to run in equipped with swing and sandbox.
During summertime you can enjoy the large enclosed garden equipped with sun umbrella, large outdoor table, garden bench and chairs. During the winter the fireplace helps you create a warm atmosphere inside.
An extra special feature about the house are the personal wall paintings.
Please note: at this property a maximum of 1 pet is allowed.
Nieuw Haamstede (Zeeland, Netherlands)
Nieuw Haamstede is located in the Kop van Westenschouwen and is particularly popular with tourists who love peace, quiet and nature. The stretched beaches and nature are the main reason for many guests to return regularly to this beautiful part of the Netherlands.
The area was identified as one of the most beautiful places in the Netherlands. Wonderful in all seasons: The ideal place to relax and leave the daily worries behind you. With children, dog or just alone!
The beach nearest to the house is reached by following the approximately 600 m long Vuurtorenpad through the dunes. It is the main access path to the beach. At the foot of the Vuurtorenpad you can park your car or leave your bike. There is a toilet block with foot shower there too.
There is a café-restaurant on the beach which is open during the summer season. You can rent a small beach cabin there where you can leave your belongings.
The beach is not supervised. The commune Schouwen-Duiveland established rules regarding the use of the beach. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed.
Access to the Meeuwen Duinen (220 ha) is limited because it is a natural breeding space for all sorts of birds and other animals. It is forbidden to access this area during the breeding season which is from 15 March to 15 July without a guide to accompany you. At other times you can walk along the marked trail for unforgettable walks.
In Nieuw Haamstede you will find a small supermarket for daily needs, such as fresh bread, etc.
Bike rental and restaurants are also within walking distance.
